Three common types of coffee trees

The three common coffee tree species are Arabica, Robusta, and Libirica.
In high-altitude areas, Arabica coffee grows the best, and its flavor is much more refined than other coffee. The caffeine content in this coffee accounts for only 1% of the total weight of the coffee. Its global production is about 80-85%.
Robusta coffee has a rich and mellow taste, strong resistance to pests and diseases, and a high yield per plant. This type of coffee grows in low altitude areas and is mostly used in Italian style blended beans to make espresso because it can extract rich and stable cream. Its global production is about 15-20%.
Liberica species are extremely rare in China, with only a small amount planted in Maihao Town, Wenchang, Hainan Province. The region was first introduced and planted from abroad in 1898, and still retains the authentic Liberica variety. This variety has strong caramel flavor, strong sweetness, and obvious dry flavor of jackfruit. Due to low production and high concentration, it is difficult to commercialize and its products are almost invisible in the market. Its global production is about 1-2%.
